KEY MOMENTS
  • SNHU led by three with under four minutes to go in the second quarter when it exploded for a 17-4 run to end the half and take a 44-28 lead into the locker room. Four 3-pointers from junior Ava Winterburn (New Boston, N.H.) over the final 1:52 powered the stretch.
  • The Penmen used another quarter-ending run in the third to expand their advantage, using eight points from junior Madison Hughes (Columbia, Conn.) to guide a 12-3 run that gave the visitors their largest lead of the day at 69-42.
NOTES
  • Gordon was an uber-efficient 9 of 11 from the field, including 1 of 2 from behind the arc, and a perfect 2-for-2 from the stripe. She also grabbed five rebounds and dished a pair of assists.
  • Winterburn produced her second highest scoring output of the season and of her career with 17 points (6-12 FG, 5-10 3-FG), while adding five boards and three assists. The five triples matched a career best.
  • Hughes matched her career high with 15 points (6-8 FG, 3-5 3-FG), in addition to tallying three rebounds, three assists and three blocks.
  • The Penmen hit 12 3-pointers in the game – the most since they matched their program record with 13 in a 77-47 NE10 Championship first round victory at home against American International College on Feb. 28, 2020.
  • This marked the first meeting between the two programs.
WHAT'S NEXT
  • The Penmen are now off until Wednesday, Dec. 31 (12 p.m.) when they hit the road to take on Molloy University.
  • SNHU is not back home until Sunday, Jan. 4 (1:30 p.m.) when it plays host to American International College at the Stan Spirou Field House.
