Score: Bentley University 72, Southern New Hampshire University 60

Sophomore Jojo Wallace (Milford, Conn.) netted a game-high 22 points, but the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team dropped a 72-60 decision to Bentley University on Wednesday night at the Stan Spirou Field House.
KEY MOMENTS
  • Bentley, which led wire-to-wire, jumped out to a 10-0 lead over the first four minutes and carried a 34-28 advantage into the break.
  • A layup from senior T.J. Morris (Jamaica, N.Y.) and three-point play from Wallace pulled the Penmen within one at 40-39 with 14:18 remaining, but the Falcons would immediately score eight straight and SNHU never inched closer than four the rest of the way.
NOTES
  • SNHU has now lost two of three for the first time since Feb. 1-8 of last season – going 15 straight games (12-3) without the occurrence.
  • The Penmen outrebounded Bentley on the offensive glass, 22-9, turning that into a 23-11 advantage in second chance points.
  • Wallace has scored in double figures in all seven games this season and has yet to pile up fewer than 18 points in a contest. He leads the NE10 in scoring at 21.9 points per game.
  • Wallace, who shot 6 of 9 in the first half, finished 10-for-23 from the field, including 1-for-5 from deep, and 1-for-1 at the line. He also grabbed three rebounds and dished three assists.
  • Morris tallied 13 points (4-10 FG, 2-5 3-FG, 3-3 FT), seven boards and four helpers.
  • Senior Ugo Nwachukwu (Imo State, Nigeria) posted 13 points (6-11 FG, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and three steals.
  • Junior Jacari Sanders (San Antonio, Texas) saw his double-digit scoring streak come to an end at six games.
  • Bentley leads the all-time series with SNHU, 35-32. While the teams have split the last 32 meetings, the Falcons have captured 10 of the most recent 17 and eight of 13, though the Penmen have managed to win five of the last nine, but had their three-game winning streak halted. The two teams have also split the last 12 games at SNHU, including a 79-73 Penmen non-conference win back on Nov. 19.
  • SNHU dips to 62-23 (.722) at home over the last seven seasons and sees its home winning streak snapped at seven games.
WHAT'S NEXT
  • The Penmen return to action Saturday, Dec. 6 (3:30 p.m.), when they take on Assumption University.
  • SNHU is back home Tuesday, Dec. 9 (7 p.m.) when it plays host to the University of Bridgeport at the Stan Spirou Field House.
