Sean Dwyer and Joey Gallo Each Score Four Goals as Men's Lacrosse Wins Opener

Penmen Defeated Felician University 15-5 on Monday afternoon

Redshirt freshman Joey Gallo (Derry, N.H.) debuted with four goals and three assists and sophomore Sean Dwyer (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) also scored four goals as SNHU Men's Lacrosse opened the 2025 season Monday afternoon with a 15-5 win over Felician University at Ouellette Stadium.

  • Sophomore Ryan Lynch (Derry, N.H.) - goal, 3 assists, 7 ground balls, 3 caused turnovers

  • Sophomore Patrick Roy (North Andover, Mass.) - two goals, ground ball, 3 caused turnovers
  • Senior Patrick Cassidy (No. Chelmsford, Mass.) - 9 saves
KEY MOMENTS
  • It only took the Penmen 40 seconds to score the first goal of the season on a shot by Dwyer.
  • Dwyer made it 2-0 just 28 seconds later in a man-up situation off a pass from Wozniak.
  • Gallo scored the other two first period goals to put the Penmen up 4-0.
  • The Penmen extended the lead to 9-2 by halftime with Gallo (5:28) and Dwyer (3:20) each completing the hat trick.
  • Newcomers junior Aiden Blouin (Barre, Vt.) and redshirt freshman Nate Pedrick (Londonderry, N.H.) scored their first career goals in the second quarter.
  • Roy scored with 21 seconds remaining in the half to make it 9-2.
  • Dwyer and Lynch scored in the third quarter for the Penmen.
  • Wozniak tallied his first two career goals to start the fourth quarter to make it 13-4, and then Roy scored off a pass from Lynch.
  • Gallo's fourth goal of the game capped the scoring with 3:13 to play.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • SNHU had a 52-20 shot advantage on the Golden Falcons.
  • Three of Felician's goals came with a man-up while the Penmen converted the only opportunity they had with an extra man.
  • Felician had 29 turnovers and SNHU 19.
  • SNHU finished 21-of-23 on clear attempts while Felician was 11-23.
  • The Golden Falcons won 14-of-23 face-offs.
  • The Penmen had a 32-25 ground ball advantage.
NOTES
  • The Penmen improve to 3-0 all-time against Felician.
  • Felician was picked eighth in the CACC pre-season poll while the Penmen were slotted seventh in the NE10 pre-season poll of league coaches.
  • Lynch finished as SNHU's leading goal-scorer as a freshman in 2024 when the Penmen went 4-9 (3-6 NE10).
  • The February 10 opener is the earliest start for Head Coach Paul Calkins, now in his 37th season.
WHAT'S NEXT
  • The Penmen head to Molloy University on Saturday (2/15) at 12:00 p.m.   Molloy handed SNHU a double-overtime setback in last season's home opener.  This will be the Lions season-opener.
  • The next game for the Penmen at Ouellette Stadium will be Saturday, March 1 (2:00 p.m.) against St. Thomas Aquinas College.
