Four points each from DeVries and freshman Taylor Brennan (Southbury, Conn.) later made up an 8-0 run that trimmed the SNHU deficit to 32-29 with under 90 seconds on the clock. The Owls answered with six straight that sent them to the locker room with a 38-29 advantage.
  • SNHU opened the second half with eight straight points, including four from Wager, to pull within one at 38-37 less than three minutes in. SCSU responded with six-in-a-row, however, to go up, 44-37, with 5:48 to play in the third quarter and would lead, 51-43, at the end of three.

SNHU quickly stormed back, notching 13 consecutive points – from six different scorers – to grab a 56-54 lead with 4:15 to play.
