Amelia Freitas (Plymouth, Mass.) tossed a complete-game for her fourth win of the season as SNHU Softball opened a doubleheader at Felician University with a 7-1 win. The Golden Falcons held off the Penmen 2-1 to split the doubleheader in Little Ferry, N.J.

GAME 1: SNHU 7, Felician 1
- Sophomore Charlotte Donovan (Biddeford, Maine) drove in the game's first run with a sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning.
- In the third, junior Peyton Feldman (Foxboro, Mass.) reached on a walk, Bruggeman singled, and junior Abby Lineman (Doylestown, Pa.) reached on an error.
- Freshman Catherine Seay (Marlborough, Mass.) scored from third on a strikeout and throw to first to make it 3-0.
- In the top of the sixth, sophomore Mikaya Alto (Chelmsford, Mass.) walked and scored on a triple by Abbott. Resetar followed with a double, and later scored to make it 6-0.
- Resetar also doubled home Abbott in the seventh inning for the final run.
GAME 2: Felician 2, SNHU 1
- Felician scored an unearned run in the bottom of the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly and then added another run in the bottom of the fifth.
- Lineman picked up an RBI single in the top of hte sixth inning, plating sophomore Kaysie DeMoura (Taunton, Mass.) who had walked.
- The Penmen threatened with back-to-back two-out singles by Resetar and Feldman, but Bruggeman grounded out to end the game.
- Sophomore Julianna Colbert (Burrillville, R.I.) took the loss, allowing one earned run in four innings.
- Donovan picked two scoreless innings in relief.
NOTES
- SNHU leads the all-time series 4-2, winning two of three games played this season with the Golden Falcons.
- Lineman leads the team with a .375 average, three homers, and 22 RBIs. Bruggeman has seven doubles, tied for most on the team with Resetar.
- Donovan's ERA falls to 0.89 with only two earned runs allowed in 15.2 innings pitched.
WHAT'S NEXT
- SNHU will head to Caldwell University for a doubleheader on Friday at 1:00 p.m.
- The scheduled home opener for the Penmen is Wednesday, March 26 against American International College at 2:00 p.m.
