Graduate Student Katelyn Hadden (Newburyport, Mass.) played a role in six of the 10 Penmen goals, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team suffered a 14-10 Senior Day loss to Assumption University on Saturday at Ouellette Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Assumption jumped out to a 4-0 lead over the opening 6:10, but three straight – powered by a goal and an assist from Hadden – pulled Southern New Hampshire within 4-3 with 3:53 left in the opening half. The Greyhounds would notch the final two goals to take a 6-3 lead to the second quarter.
- Hadden began the second stanza with two straight goals that trimmed the SNHU deficit to 6-5 with 6:44 remaining in the first half. It was still a one-goal game when the visitors notched two straight, including one with four seconds on the clock, to bring a 9-6 advantage to the break.
- Assumption scored two of the three third-quarter goals to widen the gap to 11-7 going to the fourth quarter.
- The teams alternated goals in the final frame, with SNHU never getting closer than four the rest of the way.

- Freshman Corrina Moulton (Barre, Vt.) stopped eight of the 22 shots that came her way.
- Assumption 'keeper Skylar Troyan racked up 14 saves.

- SNHU outshot Assumption, 32-28, including 10-6 in the final frame.

- SNHU went 13-for-15 on its clears, while Assumption was 15-for-17.

NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire will need a win in the regular-season finale to punch their ticket to the NE10 Championship for a fourth consecutive season.
- Assumption leads the all-time series, 12-11, and has won nine straight, including four-in-a-row at SNHU. The last win for the Penmen against the Greyhounds came April 12, 2017 (18-14) in their most recent home victory.
- Hadden now has 158 goals, 97 assists and 252 points for her career, including 104 goals, 69 assists and 173 points during her two years in a Penmen uniform.
- Hadden's 84 points this season pull her into a fourth-place tie with Emily Mongeau (2011) on SNHU's single-season list. She remains third in assists (39).
- Hadden, McInnis, Pietz, Rachel McLaughlin (Woburn, Mass.), Layne Walther (Center Moriches, N.H.), Nina Liquori (Agawam, Mass.) and Brooke Deily (Doylestown, Pa.) were all honored in a Senior Day ceremony prior to the contest.
