GAME 1: SNHU 2, New Haven 1 ( 11 innings)
- The teams finished nine innings last Tuesday before the rains.
- The only hit Freitas gave up was a lead-off the game triple by Bella Chenet, who scored on a double play.
- The Penmen tied the game in the fifth. Singles by Resetar and Feldman, and a wild pitch, set the table for an RBI single for Bruggeman.
- Teams receive a placed runner at second from the tenth inning on.
- Both teams sacrificed to put a runner at third with one out, but neither team scored in the tenth.
- New Haven failed to score in the top of the 11th. Junior Sidney Rose (Davidson, N.C.) made a great play to tag the Charger runner after an errant throw on a grounder with two outs.
- Rose started the bottom of the frame on second base, moved to third on a sacrifice by sophomore Kaysie DeMoura (Taunton, Mass.).
- Donovan hit a blast that landed at the base of the wall in center field to win the game.
- Breanna Kinney went the distance in the circle for the Chargers, allowing two runs, one earned, in 10.1 innings pitch.
GAME 2: New Haven 6, SNHU 5
- The Penmen struck for three runs in the bottom of the first inning.
- Feldman singled, Bruggeman walked, and DeMoura doubled to right field for the first run.
- Donovan followed with a two-run single that made it 3-0.
- Trailing 3-1 in the top of the fourth inning, the Chargers sent 10 batters to the plate, scoring five runs, all with two out.
- Resetar had a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the inning to make it 6-4.
- In the last of the sixth, sophomore Mikaya Alto (Chelmsford, Mass.) drove in a run with a single to cut the lead to 6-5.
- Feldman walked to start the seventh and Bruggeman followed with a sacrifice. The Penmen could not get the tying run home.
- Skylar Griffin earned the win for the Chargers and Katie Rhodes picked up the save. Sophomore Julianna Colbert (Burrillville, R.I.) took the loss.
NOTES
- New Haven leads the all-time series 35-19. The teams have split the doubleheaders each of the past three seasons.
- Feldman has extended her hitting streak to ten games - Donovan has an eight-game streak.
- Resetar leads the Penmen with a .369 average while Lineman is tops with five homers and 35 RBIs.
- If the Penmen can hold onto one of the top four spots in Northeast-10 Conference, they would host a playoff game(s) next Tuesday, April 29.
