Southern New Hampshire University softball has clinched a home field advantage in the Northeast-10 Championships after splitting Friday's doubleheader at Adelphi University. The Panthers won the opener 5-4 and the Penmen won the nightcap 7-2 behind a complete-game effort by sophomore

GAME 1: Adelphi 5, SNHU 4
- The Penmen trailed 3-1 before rallying in the top of the sixth inning.
- Junior Peyton Feldman (Foxboro, Mass.) and Bruggeman started the inning with singles.
- A sacrifice by sophomore Kaysie DeMoura (Taunton, Mass.) moved Feldman and runner sophomore Kennedy Craigue (Bow, N.H.) into scoring position.
- Donovan singled to plate Feldman, and Lineman singled to plate Craigue and Donovan scored on an error on the play.
- Donovan took over for senior Amelia Freitas (Plymouth, Mass.) in the seventh.
- The Panthers started with a single and walk, and earned the win when a bunt by Angelina Kellogg was misplayed to score the winning run.
GAME 2: SNHU 7, Adelphi 2
- The Penmen took a 1-0 lead in the third on an RBI groundout by Feldman. Jenkins singled, stole second, and advanced to third on a bunt by Resetar.
- The Panthers scored twice in the bottom of the fourth to rally into the lead.
- SNHU sent 12 to the plate in the fifth inning, scoring six times.
- Resetar had an RBI double to score Abbott, who had singled.
- Bruggeman drove in Resetar with a single.
- Donovan had a two-run double to make it 5-2
- Abbott picked up her second hit of the inning to drive in a run and Jenkins drew a bases loaded walk.
NOTES
- Adelphi leads the all-time series 20-8.
- The win for the Penmen was the first in Garden City since a 3-0 win on April 16, 2011.
- The Penmen have clinched a top-four slot in the NE Championship and a home game in the opening round.

- The Penmen will close the regular season at Pace University on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
