The Southern New Hampshire University men's cross country team turned in a strong effort Saturday at the 52nd UMass Dartmouth Invitational, placing 15th overall in a highly competitive 32-team field among teams from all divisions.
KEY MOMENT
- Senior Dillon Labonte (Lee, N.H.) led the way for SNHU, covering the 8K course in 24:56.56, placing 15th overall in a field of more than 250 runners. Labonte's 8K is a new PR, tied for 5th best in program history
NOTES
- Junior Eric Sekyaya (Burlington, Mass.) crossed as the team's second scorer, running 26:11.73 for 62nd place.
- Senior Carter Sylvester (Northwood, N.H.) was next in for SNHU at 26:55.00 (101st overall).
- Junior Brett Trainor (North Chelmsford, Mass.) added a 27:27.00 clocking for 124th place.
- Freshman Jackson Bock (Danbury, Conn.) rounded out the scoring five with a 29:28.16 in his second and best race of the season.
- Junior Alex Labrecque (Hooksett, N.H.) crossed in 30:28.30.
- Boston University won the race (60), finishing ahead of UMass Lowell (98), and Brown (104). Liam Lyons of Holy Cross turned in the best time of the day, 24:07.7.
