Senior Meghan Gordon (Attleboro, Mass.) dropped 18 points, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team rallied from down 13 in the second half for a 65-60 victory against Pace University on Saturday afternoon at the Stan Spirou Field House to extend its winning streak to four games.
KEY MOMENTS
- SNHU led, 8-4, four-and-a-half minutes in, when Pace ended the opening quarter with a 14-4 charge that flipped it in front, 18-12. The Setters ran that lead as high as 11, but the Penmen trimmed their halftime deficit to 35-30.
- SNHU pulled as close as 39-37 with 6:09 left in the third quarter, but Pace responded with 11-in-a-row that gave it the largest lead of the afternoon at 50-37 with 2:38 to play.
- The Penmen trailed 54-44 with just over seven minutes on the clock with a bucket from junior Ava Winterburn (New Boston, N.H.) sparked a game-ending 21-6 blitz that allowed SNHU to steal the victory. Sophomore Taylor Brennan (Southbury, Conn.) led the way with eight points during the stretch, while junior Madison Hughes (Columbia, Conn.) might have had the biggest basket – a 3-pointer with 57 ticks left that gave SNHU the lead for good at 61-60.

- Southern New Hampshire has won four straight games and eight of its last 10.
- Gordon was 9-for-14 from the floor, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked a pair of shots.
- Winterburn netted 13 points (5-14 FG, 2-8 3-FG, 1-3 FT), collected five rebounds and dished a pair of assists.
- Brennan also finished with 13 points (5-13 FG, 1-2 3-FG, 2-2 FT), to go with four rebounds and two helpers.
- The double-double for Gordon is her third of the season and 18th of her career.
- SNHU outshot Pace in the fourth quarter, 50 percent (8-16) to 18.8 percent (3-16).
- Pace leads the all-time series, 23-14, though the Penmen have taken five of the last seven, despite the teams splitting the last four meetings. SNHU has also won three of four at home against the Setters.
- Gordon was honored prior to the game for becoming the 20th SNHU player to reach 1,000 points while playing for the Penmen on Wednesday night.
