Jojo Wallace (Milford, Conn.) notched a game-high 21 points, but the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team – despite battling back from a pair of double-digit deficits – fell to Assumption University, 81-74, Wednesday night at the Stan Spirou Field House.
KEY MOMENTS
- Assumption built a 24-14 advantage over the first 10 minutes of the contest, but Southern New Hampshire answered with a 20-8 run – powered by seven from Wallace – to grab a 34-32 lead with 2:24 to go in the opening half. The Greyhounds scored the final six points to go into the break with a 38-34 edge.
- The Greyhounds used a 14-2 blitz near the beginning of the second half to take a 55-44 lead just over four minutes in, but SNHU would later score 12-in-a-row to go in front, 71-70, with 3:23 on the clock. Seniors Ray Daniels (Las Vegas, Nev.) and T.J. Morris (Jamaica, N.Y.), and Wallace netted five, four and three points, respectively, to make up the run. Assumption responded by scoring 11 of the game's final 14 points, however, to grab the victory.

- Southern New Hampshire has lost six of its last seven.
- Wallace was 8-for-17 from the floor, including 1-for-4 from 3-point land, and 4-for-6 at the stripe, while collecting seven rebounds, dishing four assists and making a pair of steals.
- Morris tallied 13 points (6-9 FG, 1-2 3-FG), three rebounds, three assists and a career-best five steals.
- Senior Ugo Nwachukwu (Imo State, Nigeria) posted 11 points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3-FG, 4-7 FT) and eight boards.
- Daniels scored 10 points (4-9 FG, 1-6 3-FG, 1-2 FT).
- Freshman Jamier Rose (Berwick, Maine) recorded eight points (3-8 FG, 2-4 3-FG), three rebounds, two assists and three steals – matching or setting a career high in each category – in 23 minutes off the bench.
- SNHU leads the all-time series with Assumption, 40-20, and has won 18 of the last 25 meetings, though the Greyhounds have now won three straight. The Penmen have also won 10 of the last 12 on their home court, though they see their five-game winning streak halted. The last time the Greyhounds had come into SNHU and won was Feb. 26, 2019 (66-60).
- Wallace has scored in double figures in all 19 contests this season and continues to lead the NE10 in scoring (22.2 ppg).
