Men's Hoop Leads Wire-to-Wire in 104-76 Senior Night Win Over Franklin Pierce

Penmen use three 20-point scorers to cruise to fourth victory in five games

Senior Ugo Nwachukwu (Imo State, Nigeria), sophomore Jojo Wallace (Milford, Conn.) and senior Ray Daniels (Las Vegas, Nev.) combined for 68 points, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team led from the start in a 104-76 triumph over Franklin Pierce University on Wednesday night, as the Penmen celebrated Senior Night at the Stan Spirou Field House.
KEY MOMENTS
  • SNHU opened the game on a 10-2 run – powered by five from redshirt-junior Jahshawne Joseph (Malvern, Ont.) – over the opening two-plus minutes. The margin was nine at 32-23 with more than five minutes remaining in the first half when the Penmen ended the half on a 12-3 run – led by five from Nwachukwu – to take a 44-26 advantage into the break.
  • A 10-0 blitz over the span of a minute-and-a-half early in the second stanza ballooned the SNHU lead to 65-35 with 15:08 to go. An 18-6 barrage – bookended by 3-pointers from redshirt-junior Jack Hall (Avon, Conn.) – opened the largest lead of the game for the Penmen at 103-65 with 3:14 left. Daniels matched Hall's six points during the stretch to lead the way.

  • Southern New Hampshire has won four of its last five.
  • Nwachukwu posted 24 points (8-13 FG, 1-3 3-FG, 7-8 FT) and 14 rebounds. His double-double is his ninth of the season and 13th of his career.
  • Wallace matched Nwachukwu's 24 points (8-13 FG, 4-4 3-FG, 4-7 FT), while collecting four rebounds and a pair of assists.
  • Daniels tallied a season-high 20 points (6-9 FG, 3-6 3-FG, 5-5 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, three steals and two blocks.
  • Hall recorded 14 points (4-4 FG, 4-4 3-FG, 2-2 FT) and three rebounds.
  • Senior T.J. Morris (Jamaica, N.Y.) registered six points (3-8 FG), six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
  • SNHU leads the all-time series with Franklin Pierce, 80-35, and has won 10-in-a-row. The last FPU win came Dec. 4, 2021 in an 87-83 home overtime win. The Penmen have also won 11 of their last 12, including six-in-a-row at home against the Ravens. The last time the Ravens were victorious at SNHU was Jan. 8, 2020 (91-86).
  • Wallace has scored in double figures in all 25 contests this season and continues to lead the NE10 in scoring (23.4 ppg). Wallace has now netted 20-plus points in 12 straight and is averaging 25.6 ppg during the stretch, which includes six performances of 27 or more.
  • Nwachukwu, Daniels and Morris were all honored in a Senior Night ceremony prior to the contest.
