Jojo Wallace (Milford, Conn.) erupted for a game-high 31 points and redshirt junior
Jack Hall (Avon, Conn.) reached the 1,000-point milestone for his collegiate career, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team won its third straight game with an 81-65 Northeast 10 Conference victory over Pace University on Saturday afternoon at the Goldstein Athletics Center. The win marks the Penmen's fifth in their last six games.
KEY MOMENTS
- The teams battled through nine lead changes in the opening half, with Pace taking a narrow 33-32 edge into the locker room.
- SNHU took control early in the second half. Hall drilled a pair of three-pointers in the opening minutes, and Wallace sparked a 9-0 run midway through the period that pushed the Penmen's lead to double digits. Wallace connected on five three-pointers in the game, including back-to-back triples that stretched the advantage to 19 points with just over 11 minutes to play.
- The Penmen shot 57.1 percent from the field in the second half and knocked down six three-pointers after the break to pull away.
NOTES
- Wallace finished with 31 points on 11-of-19 shooting, including 5-of-7 from three-point range, while adding three rebounds. Wallace has reached 30 points in three of the last four games.
- Hall totaled 14 points, four three-pointers and five rebounds. His first three pointer, just 52 seconds into the game, gave him 1,000 points for his career spanning three seasons at American International College and this season at SNHU.
- Senior T.J. Morris (Jamaica, N.Y.) added 14 points and four assists, while freshman Jamier Rose (Berwick, Maine) chipped in nine points.
- The Penmen shot 51.9 percent from the field and 57.9 percent from beyond the arc (11-19).
- SNHU led by as many as 19 points in the second half.
- The Penmen earned a season split with Pace and lead the all-time series 25-17.
- With the victory, SNHU is tied with Southern Connecticut for seventh place in the Northeast 10 standings. The top seven teams qualify for the NE10 Championship, which begins next weekend.
