Southern New Hampshire University men's lacrosse opened the 2026 season in record-setting fashion, rolling past Felician University, 27-4, on Monday afternoon in non-conference action indoors at the NH Sportsdome.
KEY MOMENTS
- SNHU seized control immediately, scoring eight goals in the opening quarter to build an 8-0 lead. The Penmen never let up, adding nine goals in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.
NOTES
- The 27 goals are the most in a single game in program history, surpassing the previous mark of 26 set in a 26-1 victory over Castleton on April 25, 1989. The win also moved the Penmen to 4-0 all-time against Felician.
- Playing his first collegiate game, sophomore Lasse Volquardsen (Frankfurt, Germany) delivered one of the most dominant performances in program and conference history, finishing with seven goals and eight assists for 15 points. His 15-point outing ranks as the third-highest single-game total in Northeast 10 history and is the most by a Penman since SNHU joined the NE10 in 2001 (records date back to the 2001 season). It ranks as 9th highest scoring day in Division II history, and 26th in NCAA history.
- Junior Joey Gallo (Derry, N.H.) added three goals and five assists, while junior Sean Dwyer (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) recorded two goals and four assists. Senior Aiden Blouin (Barre, Vt.) chipped in three goals, and sophomore Blake Wozniak (Garden Grove, Calif.) scored twice.
- Fourteen different Penmen found the back of the net, as SNHU finished the afternoon with 52 shots and a 33-10 edge in ground balls. The Penmen also dominated at the faceoff X, winning 26 of 35 draws.
- SNHU was efficient on man-up opportunities, converting four times, while holding the Golden Falcons to one goal in five extra-man chances.
- In goal, junior Matt Roy (North Andover, Mass.) earned the win after allowing two goals and making six saves in the opening 36:22, as four Penmen goalies combined to limit Felician to four goals on 26 shots.
