Sophomore Vicente Preto (Sesimrba, Portugal) and freshman Aurel Creveuil (Nanterre, France) captured their singles matches at No. 1 and No. 2, but the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to 19th-ranked Queens (N.Y.) College on Friday at the Queens College Indoor Tennis Bubble.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire had won six of its last nine, including three of four.
- Trailing, 5-0, the Penmen put a point on the board when Preto downed Lucas Foix Sotos, 7-5, 6-2, at the top flight.
- Creveuil capped the match by outlasting Tim Andersson, 6-7 (3-7), 6-4, 11-9, at No. 2.
- Queens leads the all-time series, 9-4, including 5-1 at home. After SNHU had won four straight, Queens has now been victorious in three-in-a-row. The last Penmen win in the series was May 10, 2022 (4-3) at home, while the last time they won at Queens was Feb. 12, 2022 (5-2).
