Sophomore Vicente Preto (Sesimbra, Portugal) earned a pair of wins, including his top flight singles victory that clinched the match, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team downed the College of the Holy Cross, 4-3, Wednesday at the Sinnott Family Tennis Center.

  • Southern New Hampshire led, 3-2, when Preto rallied past Matt Carlson at No. 1 singles, 3-6, 7-6, 6-4, ot clinch the victory.

  • Preto combined with junior Albert Modol (Lleida, Spain) to edge Jack Prokopis and Will Donnelly, 7-5, at No. 1 doubles.

  • Modol was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at No. 4 singles versus Colton Parker.
  • Sophomore Marcos Castaneda (Madrid, Spain) breezed to a 6-0, 6-2 victory against Patrick Ling at No. 5 singles to better his record to 10-3 on the season.
  • SNHU improves to 3-1 all-time against Holy Cross and beats the Crusaders in Worcester for the first time.
