GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS
  • The Penmen used a late surge to pull away from Bemidji State, scoring five runs in the sixth inning to turn a 3-3 contest into an 8-3 win.
  • Junior Kaysie DeMoura (Taunton, Mass.) paced the offense with a 4-for-5 performance, driving in a run and scoring once.
  • Senior Alyssa Abbott (Hudson, N.H.) went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while senior Peyton Feldman (Foxboro, Mass.) added a double and reached base three times.
  • Senior Abby Lineman (Doylestown, Pa.) delivered an RBI single in the decisive sixth inning, and sophomore Julia Parise (East Meadow, N.Y.) added an RBI groundout as the Penmen capitalized on timely hits and a pair of wild pitches.
  • Sophomore Kayla O'Boyle (Commack, N.Y.) made her first career start in the circle, allowing three runs (two earned) over 4.1 innings. Junior Julianna Colbert (Burrillville, R.I.) earned the win in relief, tossing 2.2 scoreless innings with five strikeouts.
  • SNHU totaled 12 hits in the contest and scored three times in the fourth before erupting in the sixth to secure the victory.
GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS
  • Lineman provided the heroics in the nightcap, blasting a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give SNHU a 2-1 win over Roosevelt.
  • The Lakers struck first with a solo homer in the second inning, but the Penmen answered in the bottom half of the frame. Feldman doubled and later scored on Lineman's RBI single to tie the game at 1-1.
  • The score remained even until the seventh, when Lineman led off the inning with a home run to left field to send the Penmen to victory.
  • Lineman finished 2-for-3 with both RBIs in the game.
  • Junior Charlotte Donovan (Biddeford, Maine) was strong once again in the circle, going the distance while allowing one run on seven hits and striking out nine.

  • Donovan has won her start for three consecutive days, allowing only two earned runs in 21 innings with 20 strikeouts.
  • Lineman's home run was the first hit by an SNHU player this season. It was the 14th of her career, and her six RBIs lead the Penmen.
  • Friday's game with Roosevelt was the first meeting between the programs. The Lakers compete in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
  • The Penmen improve to 2-0 against Bemidji State (Minnesota). SNHU earned an 11-3 win over the Beavers in Florida two years ago to the day.
UP NEXT
  • The Penmen will wrap up their Florida swing Saturday with a doubleheader against West Chester University beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Space Coast Complex.
