Junior Carlos Molero (Barcelona, Spain) clinched the match with a No. 3 singles win to lead the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team to a 4-0 victory against Franklin Pierce University on Saturday at the FPU Tennis Courts.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Molero outlasted Orlando Guerrero, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, at No. 3 singles to end the match for the Penmen.
  • Freshman Tristan Chandler (APO (Armed Forces-Europe)) and sophomore Sebastian Eckert (Wernigerode, Germany) combined to edge Guerrero and Sam Borrego, 6-4, at No. 3 doubles to clinch the point.
NOTES
  • The match was only played until one team clinched to beat the rain that was expected later in the afternoon.
  • Southern New Hampshire has won six of its last eight, including three straight.
  • SNHU clinched an NE10 postseason berth with the victory. The Penmen will host the NE10 Championship at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts on April 30-May 1.
  • Freshman Aurel Creveuil (Nanterre, France) was a 6-2, 6-4 winner over Daniel Garcia at No. 2 singles.
  • Sophomore Marcos Castaneda (Madrid, Spain) won at No. 4 singles when his opponent was forced to retire and improves to 12-3 on the season.
  • SNHU leads the all-time series with FPU, 21-6, and has captured seven of the last 10. The Penmen have also won three of four at Franklin Pierce.
