Men's Tennis Clinches No. 3 Seed With Decisive, 7-0 Win Over Bentley

Junior Carlos Molero (Barcelona, Spain) and freshman Aurel Creveuil (Nanterre, France) clinched the doubles point to set the tone for the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team in its 7-0 blanking of Bentley University on Thursday afternoon at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts

KEY MOMENTS
  • Molero and Creveuil defeated Ryan Reda and Rafael Cueto, 6-2, at No. 2 doubles to earn the point for the Penmen.
  • Creveuil also clinched the match for SNHU by downing Ansh Chadha, 6-4, 6-3, at No. 2 singles.
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire has won seven of its last 10, including four of five.
  • The Penmen wrapped up the No. 3 seed for the upcoming NE10 Championship and will take on the No. 2 seed in the semifinal round. SNHU ends the season against Adelphi University on Saturday (April 25). If the Penmen win, Adelphi will be the No. 2 seed. If Adelphi wins, Assumption University will be the 2-seed. SNHU will host the NE10 Championship at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts on April 30-May 1.
  • Sophomores Marcos Castaneda (Madrid, Spain) and Noah Cadilhac (Montpellier, France) were victorious at No. 3 doubles against Jacob Hartman and Jairaj Sehwani, 6-2.
  • Castaneda was also a 6-1, 6-1 victor against Reda at No. 5 singles to improve to 13-3 on the season.
  • Molero captured his fifth straight singles match to better his record to 12-4, as he toppled Cueto at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-2.
  • Sophomore Vicente Preto (Sesimbra, Portugal) earned the first singles win, notching a 6-2, 6-2 victory against Dante Massetta at the top flight.
  • SNHU leads the all-time series with Bentley, 20-10, and has won 16 of the last 17, including 10 of 11 at home.
