HIGHLIGHTS

  • The game remained scoreless through five innings, as both teams were held in check in the circle.
  • SNHU broke through in the top of the sixth inning. Freshman Payton Bryson (Franklin, N.H.) reached base and advanced into scoring position before junior Kaysie DeMoura (Taunton, Mass.) delivered a single to put runners on the corners.
  • Sophomore Alyssa Abbott (Hudson, N.H.) brought home the first run on a fielder's choice, and sophomore Livi Sousa (Hudson, Mass.) followed with an RBI walk to give the Penmen a 2-0 lead.
  • Adelphi responded in the bottom half of the inning, scoring five runs on five hits to take control of the game. The Panthers used a triple and three doubles in the frame to erase the deficit and pull ahead.
  • SNHU was limited to just two hits in the contest, both coming from DeMoura.

NOTES

  • Junior Julianna Colbert (Burrillville, R.I.) went the distance in the circle, allowing five runs on six hits while striking out four.
  • Adelphi's Jenna Plue earned her 19th win in the circle, striking out ten batters.  She did issue five walks.
  • DeMoura's two hits give her a team-leading .382 average and she has hits in 16 of the last 17 games.
  • Adelphi improves to 3-2 against the Penmen in the Northeast 10 tournament and lead the all-time series with SNHU 24-9.
