Eyglo Armannsdottir (Reykjavik, Iceland) only dropped two games across a pair of wins and clinched the match with a No. 5 singles victory, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team defeated Saint Michael's College, 6-1, Saturday in the NE10 opener at the SMC Tennis Courts.
KEY MOMENTS
- SNHU led, 3-1, when Armannsdottir toppled Katie Rocha, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 5 singles. She also teamed with classmate Megan Leck (Wolviston, Billingham, U.K.) to clinch the doubles point with a 6-1 win over Emma Gredenhag and Ana Maria Ricuarte at the second flight.

- Southern New Hampshire improves to 2-0 for the seventh time in the last eight years.
- The Penmen lead the all-time series with Saint Michael's, 24-8, and have now won 23 of the last 24 meetings, including 16 straight. SNHU has also won eight-in-a-row on the road against the Purple Knights. The last SMC win in the series came April 13, 2014 in a 5-4 home victory.
