NO. ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Senior Dajana Abadzic (Weinstadt, Germany) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team was selected as the NE10 Player of the Week, while freshman Luna den Besten (Amsterdam, Netherlands) earned Rookie of the Week honors, both for the period ending Sept. 13, the league office announced Tuesday.

Abadzic went 2-0 in SNHU's 6-1 win at Saint Michael's College on Saturday. She posted a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 victory against Olivia Larsen at No. 1 singles and also teamed with junior Lois Tsui (Amsterdam, Netherlands) for a 6-4 doubles triumph at the top flight against Larsen and Lucy McPherson.

den Besten went 2-0 in her collegiate debut, making easy work of Jaylin Bedard at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1, and also combining with sophomore Barbara Brito (São Brás de Alportel, Portugal for a 6-1 victory against Katie Rocha and Kasey Johnson at No. 3 doubles.

Abadzic, den Besten and the Penmen return to action Thursday (Sept. 17) at 2:30 p.m. when they take on Franklin Pierce University.
