BOX
SCORE
MANCHESTER, N.H. - Jon Ezeokoli (South Orange, NJ) led
four Bryant University players in double figures with 14 points and
seven rebounds as the Bulldogs posted a 62-54 Northeast-10 men's
basketball victory over Southern New Hampshire University at the
SNHU Fieldhouse Saturday.  The Bulldogs now stand at 4-4
overall and 3-3 in NE-10 action, while the Penmen are now 2-5 and
1-5 in the league.
Jerrann Wright
(Cincinnati, OH) totaled 12 points for Bryant, which also got 10
points apiece from Barry Latham (Taunton, MA) and
Cecil Gresham (Bloomfield, CT).
Gerald Carter (Harlem, NY) led the Penmen with 18
points, while Sam Carey (Manchester, NH) and
Chris Brickley (Manchester, NH) had nine points
apiece.  Carey also grabbed seven rebounds.
Bryant never trailed and opened up
a 10-2 lead just 3:42 into the contest on a basket by Latham.
The Penmen scored eight unanswered points to tie the game at the
13:41 mark on a pair of free throw by Chase Miller
(Fairfax, VA), but Bryant countered with a 11-2 run to take a 21-12
lead midway through the half.  The guests took their largest
lead of the half, 38-24, 1:01 before intermission on a Ezeokoli
basket and that would be the halftime score.
The Bulldogs held a 49-36 lead with
13:03 to play when the Penmen scored seven unanswered points to
make it 49-43 with 10:07 left on a Carter baseline jumper.
Bryant would reclaim a 14-point lead, 59-45, with 5:52 to go on two
free throws by Greshman, but the hosts would make one final run and
make it 59-52 with 2:27 left on a basket by Carter, but that would
be as close as SNHU would get.
SNHU shot 50% (11-22) in the second
half but were just 2-14 from three-point land for the
contest.  The Bulldogs outrebounded the Penmen 38-27.
Southern New Hampshire returns to
action Wednesday when it hosts Franklin Pierce University in a 7:30
contest at the SNHU Fieldhouse.  Bryant entertains Stonehill
Wednesday night at 7:30.
