Men's Cross Country 12th at Pop Crowell Invitational

WENHAM, Mass. - Senior Alex Brown (Hudson, NH) finished 16th out of 232 runners to lead the Southern New Hampshire University men's cross country team at Saturday's Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon College.  The Penmen finished 12th out of 24 schools.

Brown posted a time of 27:30 over the eight-kilometer course, the second-fastest time in program history.  He now owns the top four times in program history, including a school-record 26:41 effort earlier this season. 

Junior Sam Tarrant (Cleverdale, NY) was the next-highest finisher for SNHU, as he placed 87th with a time of 30:07, while freshman Jensen Bodden (New Orleans, LA) was 109th with a time of 30:46.  Michael Smith (Lynnfield, MA) traversed the course in 31:01 to place 112th.

Jason Bays (Pen Argyl, PA) placed 125th with a 31:36 effort, while Matt Gray (Haverhill, MA) was 179th with a time of 33:49.

SNHU returns to action next Saturday when it competes in the New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston.
