NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Host Norwich
University got goals from seven different players as it topped
Southern New Hampshire University 7-2 in a non-conference
exhibition ice hockey game in front of 1,507 at Kreitzberg
Arena. The Cadets reached the NCAA Division III semifinals
last season.
Norwich jumped out to a 2-0 lead
after one period and extended its lead to 4-0 5:30 into the second
period before SNHU got on the board on a John Frey
(Westminster, CO) goal at the 5:57 mark. Ryan
DiBartolomeo (Leominster, MA) and Neil
Adams (Gardner, MA) assisted on the goal. The Cadets
would score twice more in the second to take a 6-1 lead into the
second intermission.
The other Penmen tally came at the
15:37 mark of the third period when Andrew
Hildreth (Leominster, MA) scored off a feed from
DiBartolomeo.
Shane Brooks
(Kennebunk, ME) stopped 26 shots between the pipes for the Penmen,
who were outshot 33-19.
SNHU returns to action Thursday,
November 20, when it hosts Assumption College in a 7:30 contest at
The Ice Den.
