Norwich University, ranked third among Division III schools, skated
to a 12-0 men's ice hockey victory over Southern New Hampshire
University Friday night at Kreitzberg Arena. The Cadets
remained unbeaten at 7-0-1 overall, while the Penmen are now 2-7-2
on the season.
Steven Schroeder, Emmond Bell and
Kyle Thomas each finished with two goals and an assist to lead
Norwich.
Norwich jumped out to a 3-0 lead
after one period then scored six more times in the second to take a
9-0 lead after two periods.
Norwich goalie Alex Dubois made 11
saves en route to the shutout as the Cadets outshot the Penmen
49-11. Shane Brooks (Kennebunk, Maine) made
27 saves and allowed eight goals in 37:59 of action.
Mike Mastracci (Pittsburgh, Pa.) made 10 saves and
allowed four goals the rest of the way.
Southern New Hampshire is idle
until December 29 when it faces Suffolk University in the first
round of the Codfish Bowl hosted by UMass Boston.
