BOX SCORE

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Kevin Roth was a perfect 8-8 from the floor and totaled 22 points to lead Le Moyne College to a 68-62 Northeast-10 men's basketball victory over Southern New Hampshire University at the SNHU Fieldhouse Sunday afternoon.  The Dolphins improved to 10-6 overall and 6-5 in the NE-10, while the Penmen are now 9-7 and 4-7 in the league.

Roth totaled 15 of his points in the first half and also grabbed six rebounds for the game.  Laurence Ekperigin, the reigning Northeast-10 Player of the Year, added 19 points while grabbing nine rebounds and blocking four shots.  Durett Miles added eight points, while Damani Corbin handed out six assists.

Josh Morgan-Green (Upper Marlboro, Md.) led Southern New Hampshire with 14 points, going 5-10 from the floor and 4-9 behind the arc.  Tory Stapleton (Rahway, N.J.) registered his second straight double-double and fourth in the last five games with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Josh Last (Hooksett, N.H.) added 10 points, going 3-5 behind the arc.  Stephen Wood (South Jamaica Queens, N.Y.) had five assists while also blocking five shots.

Le Moyne led 36-28 at halftime and took its largest lead of the game, 51-36, with 13:28 remaining on a layup by Corbin.  Southern New Hampshire would go on an 8-1 run to cut the lead to eight, 52-44, with 11:19 left on a conventional three-point play by Cory Vejraska (Alachua, Fla.) on a putback.  Down 57-48 with 7:04 to play, the Penmen reeled off 10 straight points and a three from the left corner by Morgan-Green with 4:01 left gave the Penmen a 58-57 lead, their first since midway through the first half.

That lead would be short-lived, as Miles converted a layup for Le Moyne on its next possession with 3:26 lleft, and would score the game's next seven points to go up 64-58 with 2:35 left on an Ekperigin free throw.    The Penmen would cut the lead to three, 65-62, with 1:10 left following a three by Hanell Velez (Woburn, Mass.).  Le Moyne went just 3-6 at the free throw line in the final minute, but SNHU came up empty on each of its final three possessions.

The early moments of the game saw three ties and five lead changes, with neither team leading by more than three.  Le Moyne used a 6-0 spurt to open up a 26-19 lead with 7:09 to go in the first half following an Ekperigin basket.  The Dolphins would use a 10-0 run to open up their largest lead of the first half, 36-22, with 1:46 left following a layup by Roth.  Southern New Hampshire would knock down a pair of three pointers in the final minute, and a three with five seconds left by Greg DeSantis (Trumbull, Conn.) pulled the hosts within eight at the break, 36-28.

Le Moyne shot a blistering 68.2% (15-22) in the first half and 53.2% for the game while limiting Southern New Hampshire to 34.4% shooting for the game.  The Penmen held a 40-33 advantage on the glass, including a 23-10 edge on the offensive glass that led to a 22-16 margin in second chance points.  SNHU matched a season-high with 11 three-pointers, going 11-28 behind the arc, but was just 7-15 at the free throw line, while the Dolphins were 14-22 at the charity stripe.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Wednesday night when it hosts Pace University in a 7:30 contest at the SNHU Fieldhouse.
