The lead changed hands three times in the early going, but Southern New Hampshire took the lead for good with 10:08 to go in the first half on a DeSantis three that capped a 6-0 run to make it 15-12.  The Penmen used a 7-0 run to build a 27-16 lead with 5:24 left before halftime when Morgan-Green made three free throws.  SNHU took its largest lead of the half, 34-22, with 2:59 to go on a pair of Matthews free throws, and held a 38-27 lead at the break.

New Haven got the lead down to eight on a Greene three 2:21 into the second half that made it 44-36.  The Penmen used an 8-2 spurt to take a 56-41 lead with 11:42 remaining on a Wood three, and SNHU took its largest lead, 67-48, with 7:29 on a three from the left corner by Matthews. New Haven went on a quick 8-0 run and a Greene basket with 6:02 left made it a 67-56 game.  The Chargers would get the lead down to 11 two more times, but could get no closer.

Southern New Hampshire shot a blistering 16-23 (69.6%) from the floor over the final 20 minutes and 56% for the game while making eight of its 16 three-point attempts and going 16-21 at the free throw line.  New Haven, which outrebounded the Penmen 30-26, were 14-26 (53.8%) in the second half and made 9-17 behind the arc, but were just 10-17 at the free throw line.  SNHU continued to take good care of the ball as it committed just eight turnovers while forcing 14 Charger giveaways.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Saturday when it travels to Assumption College for a 3:30 contest.
