Chandronnait (Bow, N.H.) of the Southern New Hampshire
University women's tennis team fell in three sets in her first
round match at the National Small College Championships
Thursday. Chandronnait fell to third-seeded Jutta Bornefeld
of California (Pa.) University 5-7, 6-1, 6-3.
In the third and deciding set,
Chandronnait, trailing 5-3, nearly broke Bornefeld's serve, going
up 40-0 in the ninth game before Bornefeld rallied to take
the point and the match.
Chandronnait returns to action
Friday when she faces Maureen Rielley of Rockhurst
University, who fell 6-1, 6-1 to Alida Muller-Wehlau of Armstrong
Atlantic State University.
