2011 SNHU SOFTBALL SCHEDULE

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Southern New Hampshire University softball coach Deb Robitaille released the 2011 Penmen softball schedule on Wednesday.

SNHU kicks off the 2011 season with a total of 12 games in Florida from March 5-9, all of which will be played at the National Training Center Softball Complex in Clermont, Fla.  The Penmen will face three regional opponents (Georgian Court, Saint Rose, Post) as well as five opponents from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.  Games against Tampa, Northern State, Urbana and Seton Hill round out the docket.

The Penmen are slated to open northern play on March 17 when they head to Long Island to face Dowling.  Southern New Hampshire is then idle until opening home play on Saturday, March 26 when it entertains Molloy.  The Northeast-10 opener comes three days later when the Penmen travel to Bentley, with the home conference opener coming April 2 against Merrimack.

For the third straight season, Southern New Hampshire will play a night doubleheader under temporary lights placed at Penmen Field.  This year's night twinbill comes during the week, as the Penmen host intrastate rival Franklin Pierce on Wednesday, April 20, in a doubleheader starting at 5:00.
