PREVIEW: Penmen, Skyhawks Meet in NE-10 Opener

THE MATCHUP: The Penmen kick of Northeast-10 Conference play at home, hosting Stonehill College at 7:30 p.m.

THE PENMEN: The Penmen return to the Ice Den after two overtime games at the ICFCU Shootout hosted by Fitchburg State...the Penmen dropped a 4-3 overtime loss to the hosts on Friday before tying Franklin Pierce 4-4 in the consolation game on Saturday...freshman John Humphrey led the Penmen with two goals and two assists...he now leads the Penmen in points this season with six from three goals and three assists...freshman Dane Caracino has also scored three times this season and has added an assist for four points...freshman TJ Bond has added five points off a goal and four assists this season...juniors Chris Hickey and Charles Wisniewski have added a goal apiece...sophomore Max Paluszynski earned his first start in net against Franklin Pierce and totaled 29 saves and a .879 save percentage to improve to 39 saves overall and a combined save percentage of .750...sophomore Tyler Holske has totaled 86 saves over three appearances and owns a team-best .851 save percentage.

THE SKYHAWKS: The Skyhawks posted their first win of the season, a 2-0 shutout against Nichols on Saturday...Christopher Gorovitz and Kevin Aufiero tallied goals for the Skyhawks in the win...Gorovitz and Bryan Rooney lead the team in goals this season with two apiece...Pat Greene leads the team in total points with six from a goal and five assists...Dana Borges has added a goal and three assists on the season, while Bill Carey has added a goal and two assists...Fabio Cuetara and Sean McNeil have also added a goal apiece for the Skyhawks...three different Skyhawks have seen action in net this season with Chris Tasiopoulos seeing the majority of the action...he has totaled 124 saves this season and owns a .919 save percentage while allowing just 2.79  goals per game.

HEAD-TO-HEAD: The Penmen are 35-21-2 all-time against the the Skyhawks...the teams went 1-1-1 in three meetings last season...Brandon Sheehan tallied three goals and two assists  for SNHU over the course of last season's meetings...Pat Greene scored a goal and dished out four assists against the Penmen last season.
