HOOKSETT, N.H.—The Southern New Hampshire University ice hockey team dropped a 7-1 loss to Saint Anselm College on Tuesday evening in non-conference action. With the loss, the Penmen fall to 1-9-1 on the season, while the win boosts the Hawks to 4-3-1 overall.
The win marked the 300th career victory for Saint Anselm head coach Ed Seney.
Saint Anselm posted the first two goals of the game in the first period as Joey Agliato and Johnny Daniels scored at the 11:27 and 15:08 marks, respectively.
Entering the second period down by two, the Penmen would answer with an unassisted goal by Charles Wisniewski (Strongsville, Ohio) 1:53 into the frame to set the score at 2-1. Saint Anselm would answer with five unanswered goals throughout the remainder of the second period and the final period to post the 7-1 win.
In addition to Agliato and Daniels, Saint Anselm saw goals by Tucker Millen, Tim King, Tyler Salvage, Liam McKillop and Sean Jenkins. Kevin Vanous tallied three assists for the Hawks, while Kody Grondin added two assists.
SNHU goaltender Tyler Holske (Attleboro, Mass.) posted 47 saves in the loss for the Penmen while Saint Anselm goaltender Nick Dries recorded 18 saves. The Hawks outshot the Penmen 54-19 on the evening. Saint Anselm finished 2-for-5 on the power play, while SNHU did not score with the extra man advantage in two attempts.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on December 14 when it travels to Johnson and Wales (R.I.) for a 7:45 non-conference matchup.
