Box Score HOOKSETT, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire ice hockey team was defeated by Johnson and Wales University by a score of 9-0 in a non-conference matchup Saturday night. The Penmen are now 2-5-2, while the Wildcats are 4-7.
Alex Porrier would get scoring going for the Wildcats when he scored his fifth goal of the season from Daniel Chang halfway through the first period. Just a minute later, Trevor Jewell would put Johnson and Wales ahead 2-0 when he recorded a long goal from Josh Obregon and Jason Pietrasiak.
The Wildcats would score seven more goals in the third period to solidify the win. Logan McDougall and Eddie Patterson each scored back-to-back goals just two minutes into the period to push the lead to 4-0. Daniel Chang, Jason Pietrasiak, Cameron Hoffman, and Erick Vos all notched a goal in the third period to end the game at 9-0.
Penmen goalie Tyler Holske (Attleboro, Mass.) turned away shots 16, while Matt Cooper saved 27 shots for Johnson and Wales.
The Penmen return to action on Wednesday, December 12 when they host Nichols College for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference game.
