RINDGE, N.H. – Eric Jean-Guillaume poured in 27 points to lead Franklin Pierce University to a 69-56 Northeast-10 men's basketball victory over Southern New Hampshire University at The Fieldhouse Wednesday night.  The Ravens, who are receiving votes in the latest NABC Division II poll, improved to 17-5 and 13-5 in the NE-10, while the Penmen are now 11-12 and 7-11 in the league.

Jean-Guillaume finished 8-12 from the floor, including 4-5 behind the arc, as well as 7-8 at the free throw line.  Adedamola Abu and Adrianos Vourliotakis Perdikaris each added seven points for the Ravens, with Abu also grabbing six rebounds.

BJ Cardarelli (Manchester, Conn.) led Southern New Hampshire with 18 points on 8-9 shooting, including knocking down both of his three-point attempts.  Tory Stapleton (Rahway, N.J.) was 5-5 from the field and finished with 13 points, while Aleksandar Dobrovic (Podgorica, Montenegro) added seven points and five assists.

SNHU trailed by as many as 15 in the second half and found itself down 60-49 with 3:48 remaining when it used a quick 5-0 spurt to pull within six, 60-54, with 2:49 left on a Cardarelli three.  Jean-Guillaume made a pair at the line on FPU's next trip, and he sealed the win with a three with 57 seconds left to make it 65-54.

The guests scored the game's first five points, but Franklin Pierce used a 14-2 run to build a 21-9 lead midway through the first half following a layup by Ryen Vilmont.  The Ravens took their largest lead of the opening frame, 29-16, with 5:32 left before the break.  SNHU would cut it to seven, 32-25, with 2:15 left on an Elijah Bonsignore (Felton, Del.) dunk, but FPU closed the half with a 5-0 spurt to go up 37-25 at the break.

Both teams shot over 50% for the game, with SNHU shooting 22-43 (51.2%) while the Ravens were 26-52.  Franklin Pierce held a 28-23 rebounding advantage and were 10-15 at the free throw line while the Penmen were 7-8.  Southern New Hampshire was harmed by 22 turnovers, with the Ravens committing 16 giveaways.

Southern New Hampshire entertains Bentley University Saturday afternoon in a 3:30 contest.
