Sophomore Dolores Mattice (Schenectady, N.Y.) looks to continue her strong play from last season. During her freshman year Mattice ranked second for the Penmen in innings-pitched (103) making 15 starts for the Penmen including 11 complete games. Mattice also tossed two shutouts while also posting a season-best 12 strikeouts against Bentley. In this week's Student-Athlete Spotlight Penmen fans get to know the sophomore sensation.

Pregame routine: I listen to my iPod and get mentally prepared for the game.
Something that most people don't know about me: I love to read. I probably read at least one book a week.
The moment in my life I am most proud of: Pitching two shutouts last season.
My favorite athlete: Jennie Finch is my favorite athlete because she is someone that I will always aspire to be.
Favorite meal in the SNHU Dining Center: My favorite meal at the dining center is a steak and cheese with French fries.
Three items I would want to have with me if I were stranded on a deserted island: I would want food because that is the most important thing to me, a good book that I could re- read several times, and my cell phone.
Artist I am currently listening to: Lil Wayne is my favorite artist. Whatever he comes out with is what I am listening to.
Where I see myself in five years: In five years I see myself graduating law school and engaged to the love of my life so that I can start a career and a family.
Item I can't live without: One item I can't live without is my car because I like being able to get where I need to be or where I want to be whenever I want to.
Interesting places I've been: I have been to Jamaica four times. It is heaven on earth.
What I want to accomplish this season: I want to win the Northeast-10 Conference and lower my ERA.
My favorite class at SNHU: My favorite classes at SNHU are all of my Sport Management classes.
Favorite television show/movie: My favorite television show is Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
My favorite memory as a student-athlete: Going to Florida for spring break last year with the softball team.
Favorite softball memory: Coming back to beat Assumption when we were down 7-0.
What I collect: I collect movie ticket stubs. I keep them in chronological order and according to theatre number.
What makes SNHU my "home away from home": Being so close with my roommates and the girls on my softball team.
Why I came to SNHU: I came to SNHU because I wanted to play softball and earn a degree in Sport Management.
How my teammates would describe me ON the field: They would describe me as dedicated and hardworking.
