NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament Preview

No. 2 Queens (18-3): The Knights captured their third consecutive East Coast Conference Tournament title with a 5-1 win over District of Columbia on April 19...Queens enters the NCAA Tournament on a seven-match win streak...Knight seniors Attila Toth and Tyrone Ewels shared ECC Player of the Year honors, with Toth ranked No. 15 nationally and Ewels No. 44...Andre Pellegrino was also selected to the East Coast Conference First Team, while head coach Craig Schwartz was named the league's Coach of the Year...the Knights are seeking their fourth Round of 16 appearance in a row.

No. 3 District of Columbia (16-4): UDC is making its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance...the Firebirds fell in the East Coast Conference title match to Queens (N.Y.) for the second straight season, UDC's first two years in the ECC...two of UDC's four losses were to the Knights, while its other setbacks came to Concordia (N.Y.) and Division I Georgetown...the Firebirds are led by Aleksandar Grabovac and Bruno Reich, who each garnered ECC First Team honors...Tomas Gajdusek and Simon Andersson were named to the league's Second Team.

No. 6 NYIT (11-11): The Bears qualified for the NCAA Tournament in just their second season as a varsity program...NYIT fell 5-0 to District of Columbia in the East Coast Conference semifinals...the Firebirds captured all three meetings with the Bears this season... NYIT is led by freshman Pedro Peixoto, who was named the ECC Rookie of the Year after compiling a 17-10 singles mark during the regular season...classmate Dustin Wenchel was named to the league's First Team, while Peixoto garnered Second Team accolades.

No. 7 So. New Hampshire (11-9): The Penmen are making their second straight NCAA appearance after reaching the semifinals of the Northeast-10 tournament for the third time in four seasons...sophomore Juan Arango-Campo was an NE-10 First Team selection playing at No. 1 singles, while the doubles tandems of Arango-Campo and Mitch Dobek and Mike Wallace also garnered First Team accolades...Mukdaprakorn and freshman Brad Malenich were also All-Conference selections in singles...the Penmen are hosting the East Regional for the first time.
