Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire ice hockey team dropped a 3-0 decision to non-conference opponent Umass Boston Tuesday night. The Penmen are now 2-11-2, while the Beacons improve to 11-3-1.
Tim Richter started the Beacon's scoring when he recorded a goal at the 4:33 mark in the first period. SNHU would enter the second period just one goal behind Umass Boston.
The Beacons would score two more goals in the second period to extend their lead to 3-0. A Frankie DeAugustine goal just five minutes into the period would spark a run as Rob Floentino notched the third goal just 20 seconds later.
Penmen goalie Tyler Holske (Attleboro, Mass.) recorded a season-best 41 saves for SNHU, while Matt Meisenbacher totaled 17 saves in goal for Umass Boston.
The Penmen are in action again on Saturday, January 19 when they return home for a Northeast-10 Conference game against Assumption College at 7:00 p.m.
