NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Junior Catherine Cotton (Murphy, Texas) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team was named the Northeast-10 Conference/Molten Setter of the Week Tuesday afternoon. It marks the second time this season she has won the award.
In a 1-1 week last week, Cotton handed out 97 assists (10.78 assists/set) for the Penmen, a week which saw them hit .213 as a team. She recorded 48 assists in a four-set victory over Franklin Pierce on Tuesday, then added 49 to go along with 15 digs in a 3-2 setback to Merrimack on Saturday.
Starting all 18 matches for the 11-7 Penmen, Cotton ranks third in the Northeast-10 with 9.68 assists per set, while the Penmen are hitting .170 as a team, good for sixth in the league. Her 716 total assists are tops in the conference.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Friday when it travels to Southern Connecticut State University for a 3:00 match.
