Junior Joe Collins (Mansfield, Mass.) cut the Southern New Hampshire deficit in half when he struck for his fifth goal of the season. On the powerplay, junior Jim Gabrione (Boca Raton, Fla.) cycled the puck from the blue line down to Collins behind the Franklin Pierce net. Collins stepped around a defender before walking out front and whipping a backhand shot past Tom McGuckin to the far post with 5:12 left in the middle stanza. Less than two minutes later, Murphy found the back of the net to reestablish the Ravens' two-goal lead at intermission.
The two teams remained scoreless for the majority of the third period before freshman Kyle Valliere (Goffstown, N.H.) brought the Penmen back within one. Freshman Kevin Lorcher (Rouen, France) gathered the puck deep in the Southern New Hampshire defensive zone and fired a pass to a streaking Valliere at the far blue line. Valerie walked in alone and fired a shot high to the blocker side to make it 3-2 with 6:31 left in regulation. After the two teams traded chances, Mauro was able to break through with his second man-up goal of the evening with 3:47 remaining to give the Ravens the 4-2 decision.
