NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Junior Elijah Bonsignore (Felton, Del.) and sophomore Rodney Sanders (Linden, N.J.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team were named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference Team announced on Friday. Bonsignore was a Third Team selection, while Sanders was an Honorable Mention selection.
Bonsignore, a 6-6 swingman, ranks second on the Penmen in scoring at 13.4 points per game while his 5.5 rebounds per game are tops on the team while starting all 23 games in which he has appeared. He stands seventh in the NE-10 in field goal percentage (54.5%) and ninth in the conference in three-point field goal percentage (44.6%), one of only two players in the league to rank in the top 10 of both categories. Bonsignore has blocked 42 shots, with his 1.8 blocks per game good for third in the league. He has reached double figures in scoring 18 times in 23 games and scored at least 20 points five times, while being SNHU's leading scorer on nine occasions and its leading rebounder eight times.
Sanders, a 6-3 guard, leads the Penmen in scoring (14.0 ppg) while adding 3.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest, with his 31 steals placing him second on the squad. Sanders, who has started all 24 games in which he has appeared, has reached double figures in scoring 17 times and scored at least 20 points six times, including a season-high 21 points on five separate occasions. He has led SNHU in scoring seven times on the season. This is the second time Sanders has been honored by the conference, as he was an All-Rookie Team selection last season.
Southern New Hampshire, 15-10 overall and winners of four straight, open defense of their 2013 Northeast-10 tournament title Friday night when they play host to American International College in a 7:00 NE-10 First Round game at the SNHU Fieldhouse.
