Three SNHU Student-Athletes Earn Capital One Academic All-District Honors

CAPITAL ONE ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAMS: Men's At-Large     Women's At-Large

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Three Southern New Hampshire University student-athletes were named to the Capital One Academic All-District At-Large teams released last week by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).  Seniors Juan Arango-Campo (Armenia Quindio, Colombia) and Joe Daly (Woburn, Mass.) were named to the Men's At-Large team, while senior Phoebe Clark (Concord, N.H.) was a Women's At-Large selection.  All three are now eligible for Capital One Academic All-America honors.

In order to be eligible for Capital One Academic All-America and All-District Teams, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 grade point average, have been enrolled at their current institution at least one year and be a starter or important reserve for their team. The Capital One Academic All-America and All-District teams are selected by members of CoSIDA.

Arango-Campo, an International Business major, recently wrapped up a stellar four-year career with the Penmen men's tennis program.  In 2013-14 Arango-Campo was a Northeast-10 Second Team All-Conference performer in singles and a Third Team All-Conference choice in doubles, while over his four years he was All-Conference eight times.  This season he was 19-6 at No. 2 singles and 23-7 in doubles action, and he ends his career as the program's all-time leader in singles wins (74) while ranking second in doubles triumphs with 63.

Clark, a Business Administration major, was a four-year member of the women's lacrosse team and also was a member of SNHU's first-year women's golf program in 2013-14.  A Northeast-10 Second Team All-Conference selection in 2014, Clark recorded 28 goals and 11 assists for 39 points while also winning 28 draw controls and picking up 24 ground balls.  Over her four seasons, she totaled 117 goals and 35 assists for 152 points, placing her seventh in program history in career goals and eighth in career points.

Daly, an English major, was a four-year midfielder and defender for the men's lacrosse team who served as a team captain this season.  This season, he competed in all 15 games for the Penmen, collecting 15 ground balls while also recording three caused turnovers on the season.  Daly also scored three times on the season, including in victories over Saint Anselm College and American International College.  In four years, Daly, collected 46 ground balls and finished with five goals and an assist.
