NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Daquaise Andrews (Queens, N.Y.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team was selected as the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week for the period ending Nov. 15, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Andrews looked impressive in his first collegiate action during a 2-0 week for the Penmen. Andrews averaged 15.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game, while shooting 45 percent (9-20) from the field and 92.3 percent (12-13) from the stripe. Andrews came off the bench to post 14 points, nine rebounds and four assists in a 93-81 win at Bridgeport University on Saturday and then registered 17 points, nine boards, two assists and four steals in a starting role during an 85-56 victory against Dominican (N.Y.) College on Sunday.
Andrews and the Penmen return to action Wednesday, Nov. 18 (7:30 p.m.) when they battle crosstown rival Saint Anselm College at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium. SNHU tips off its home slate Saturday, Nov. 21 (3 p.m.) when it plays host to Holy Family University at the SNHU Fieldhouse.
