Senior Erin Doherty (Marshfield, Mass.) and freshman Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) each led all scorers with 12 points as the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team cruised to a 74-47 victory against Post University on Sunday afternoon at the SNHU Fieldhouse. The Penmen are now 6-0 for the first time since the 1988-89 season.

Doherty was 4 of 6 from the floor and from the stripe, while collecting three rebounds and handing out three assists. Lorenzen shot 6-for-11 from the field to go along with eight boards, two assists and two steals. Sophomore Olivia Conrad (Hanover, Mass.) was also in double figures with 10 points (5-8 FG), while pulling down two rebounds and dishing a pair of helpers.

Jovan Kingwood led Post with eight points.

Southern New Hampshire, which led wire-to-wire, held a 5-4 edge nearly three minutes into the contest when seven straight points from junior Sara Ryan (Quincy, Mass.) triggered a 22-2 landslide that was capped by six points from Lorenzen and busted open a 27-6 advantage with 11 seconds to play in the opening quarter. A Kingwood jumper in the paint as time expired cut the Post deficit to 27-8 at the end of one.

With the lead at an even 20 less than three minutes into the second stanza, the Penmen crafted an 8-0 rush – with six points coming from Conrad – to go on top, 40-12, with 4:08 left. A layup at the end of the half from freshman Brianna Camara (Fall River, Mass.) sent SNHU to the locker room with a 42-16 advantage.

The Eagles would get as close as 23 at the 7:34 mark of the third, but the Penmen would retain a nearly 30-point lead at 55-28 at the end of three quarter of play.

Southern New Hampshire opened the final frame on an 8-2 run – with the final four points coming from Doherty – to grab its largest lead of the afternoon at 63-30 with 7:42 remaining. Post would close the game on a 6-2 streak to bring the score to its final resting place.

Ryan tallied nine points (3-8 FG, 1-3 3-FG, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, two steals, two blocks and an assist, while Camara added eight points (3-7 FG, 2-3 3-FG), five rebounds, two assists and two steals.
