NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Junior Olivia Parsons (Plymouth, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team was named the Northeast-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Parsons anchored a Penmen backline that posted a pair of shutouts last week, as Southern New Hampshire posted back-to-back 2-0 home wins over Stonehill College Tuesday and Assumption College on Saturday. She also notched an assist in the victory over the Skyhawks.
This season, Parsons has started all seven games for defense for SNHU and totaled a goal and an assist. Defensively, the Penmen have notched three shutouts in seven games and allowed four goals all season, with a 0.53 team goals-against average ranking second in the Northeast-10.
Off to its best start since 1997 at 6-1 and 4-1 in the NE-10, the women's soccer team travels to Bentley University on Wednesday afternoon.
