NSCAA RANKINGS
MANCHESTER, N.H. – Off to its best start since 1997, the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team enters the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) national rankings this week at No. 23. The 6-1 (4-1 Northeast-10) Penmen are ranked for the first time since being ranked No. 25 prior to the 2012 NCAA tournament.
The Penmen, under second-year head coach Elie Monteiro, are currently riding a four-game win streak and have posted three straight shutouts, including a 2-0 blanking of Assumption College on Saturday, a team that qualified for the NCAA field a season ago. Southern New Hampshire has already matched its win total of a season ago. Defensively, SNHU has allowed just four goals, tied for tops in the Northeast-10, and its 0.53 team goals-against average is 20th nationally.
Southern New Hampshire is scheduled to return to action Wednesday afternoon when it heads to Bentley University for a 3:30 Northeast-10 contest.
