Results: Stonehill College (38), Southern New Hampshire University (56), American International College (66), Merrimack College (72), University of New England (130), Assumption College (178), Saint Michael's College (196) and Saint Anselm College (241).
The Southern New Hampshire University men's cross country team opened up its 2015 season on Saturday by posting a second-place finish at the Shacklette Invitational on the campus of Saint Anselm College.
Junior Nacho Hernando-Angulo (Logrono, Spain) paced the Penmen with a first-place finish, traversing the 8,000-meter course in 26:18, seven seconds ahead of his closest competitor. Sophomore Andrew Tuttle (Alton, N.H.) finished eighth with a time of 27:06, and classmate Tyler McLaren (Pepperell, Mass.) also registered a top-10 finish in 27:09.
Notes:
- SNHU recorded its highest finish at the Shacklette Invitational since 2006, when it came in second-place in a three-team field.
- All-five Penmen competitors finished within the top-25, as senior Michael Bisbee (Ashburnham, Mass.) and junior Jacob Wormald (Pelham, N.H.) checked in at No. 17 (27:25) and No. 22 (27:32), respectively.
- Hernando-Angulo raced to the second-fastest 8K time in program history. McLaren owns the fastest time with a 26:07 performance at the 2014 University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth Invitational.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action on September 19 when it travels to the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.
