Result: Southern New Hampshire University 21/45
Senior Nacho Hernando-Angulo (Logrono, Spain) set a program record for an 8-kilometer race with a time of 24:40 to lead the Southern New Hampshire University men's cross country team at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University on Saturday.
Hernando-Angulo finished second overall, just two seconds behind the meet winner, in a field of 401 student-athletes from Divisions I, II and III to set a new school benchmark for the fourth time in two seasons. Junior Tyler McLaren (Pepperrell, Mass.) also logged a top-10 finish on Saturday, as he too bested the previous SNHU record of 25:05 with a sixth-place performance in 24:50.
Junior Andrew Tuttle (Alton, N.H.) was next in for the Penmen with a time of 26:13, before freshman Michael Moreno (Houston, Texas) checked in behind him in 26:52. Senior Jacob Wormald (Pelham, N.H.) traversed the terrain in 27:02 and sophomore Chris Burrill (Exeter, N.H.) crossed the finish line in 27:21. Freshman Adam Courtemanche (Greenville, R.I.) rounded out the Southern New Hampshire contingent after navigating the course in 27:35.
Notes:
- Bryce England of Saint Francis University captured the individual title in 24:38.
- The Penmen finished No. 21 overall in a field of 45 institutions. Southern New Hampshire was third amongst Division II competitors behind Shippensburg University (4) and Stonehill College (11).
- Hernando-Angulo set the previous program record of 25:05 at the 2015 Northeast-10 Conference Championship. Prior to the NE-10 Championship, he ran a time of 25:13 at the 2015 UMass Dartmouth Invitational and 25:12 at the 2015 NEIC4A at Franklin Park in Boston.
- Hernando-Angulo and McLaren now own nine of Southern New Hampshire's top-10 fastest 8K finishes. Hernando-Angulo has the first, third, fourth and fifth best times. McLaren has raced to the second, sixth, seventh, eighth and tenth top times.

The Penmen return to action on Saturday (Oct. 8) for the NEIC4A Championships at Franklin Park in Boston.
