This season, the Penmen will return to Northeast Delta Dental Stadium on Sunday, April 17 to play a Northeast-10 conference game against Assumption College after the Fisher Cats host the Trenton Thunder, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees.
"We are extremely excited to continue our relationship with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats this season," said Anthony Fallacaro, SNHU director of athletics. "It is a great experience for both our student-athletes and coaching staff to play against a professional, first-class organization like the Fisher Cats. With the success our program has had with the Major League Baseball Draft and free agent signings, it provides an extra opportunity for Major League Baseball scouts to see our team competing with successful Double-A talent. We are also thrilled to be playing one of our Northeast-10 contests at the beautiful Northeast Delta Dental Stadium this season."
"We are excited to once again host Southern New Hampshire's outstanding baseball team this spring," said Rick Brenner, Fisher Cats president and general manager. "We look forward to this game as part of our continued partnership with the Southern New Hampshire University community."
In last season's meeting, the Fisher Cats posted a 9-1 victory against the Penmen.
The 5-0 Penmen, ranked 14th in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II Poll, are back in action Saturday, March 5 when they travel to take on Felician College in doubleheader action that begins at 1 p.m. The home opener for the Penmen is scheduled for Thursday, March 31 (3 p.m.) against Saint Michael's College.
