Female Athlete of the Week: Trisha Luis - Women's Soccer - Jr., M/F
Trisha Luis (Lowell, Mass.) potted a pair of goals in Sunday's 4-1 win against Mercy at the Southern Connecticut State University Women's Soccer Classic. Luis kicked off the scoring late in the 20th minute and then handed SNHU a two-goal cushion it would never relinquish in the 51st minute.
Male Athlete of the Week: Michael Rowley - Men's Soccer - Jr., B
Michael Rowley (Cooperstown, N.Y.) bookended SNHU's 5-0 season-opening victory against Bloomfield on Saturday with a pair of goals. Rowley set the tone with his first tally early in the third minute and then put the finishing touches on the win with another strike in the 58th minute.

Notes:
- The Penmen went 1-1 in their opening weekend at the Southern Connecticut State University Women's Soccer Classic. SNHU was blanked by LIU Post, 3-0, Friday, before bouncing back to take out Mercy, 4-1.
- Junior Trisha Luis (Lowell, Mass.) potted a pair of goals in the win against the Mavericks. Luis kicked off the scoring late in the 20th minute and then handed SNHU a two-goal cushion it would never relinquish in the 51st minute.
- Senior goalkeeper Paige Salmon (W. Hempstead, N.Y.) turned away seven shots in Friday's loss and then made a SNHU-career-high nine saves in the victory.
- Junior Abigail Maker (Naples, Maine) handed out a pair of assists in the win - just her second game in a Penmen uniform.
Men's Soccer (1-0)

Notes:
- Men's soccer, which is ranked fifth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II Poll, opened its season Saturday with an offensive explosion as it blanked Bloomfield, 5-0.
-Junior Michael Rowley (Cooperstown, N.Y.) bookended the victory with a pair of goals. Rowley set the tone with his first tally early in the third minute and then put the finishing touches on the win with another strike in the 58th minute.
- Graduate student Yannis Becker (Sittensen, Germany) recorded a goal and an assist, while fellow grad student Robert Brown (Brussels, Belgium) handed out a pair of assists.
- Grad goalkeeper Nick Zucco (Ludlow, Mass.) stopped all three shots he faced to run his personal shutout streak to 651:02, dating back to last season. The Penmen, meanwhile, have not allowed a goal in 714:52, which spans seven full matches.

Notes:
- Volleyball went 1-3 this past weekend at the Raider Classic in Shippensburg, Pa. The Penmen were swept by host Shippensburg on Friday, before also falling to Seton Hill later in the day. SNHU did the sweeping on Saturday, downing Dominican (N.Y.) in straight sets before dropping a five-set thrill to Concord to close out the weekend.
- Freshman Jaclyn Maguire (Rochester, N.Y.), who was named the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Week on Monday, racked up 42 kills (3.0/set) and 40 digs (2.9/set), to go along with three service aces, during the weekend Maguire recorded her first career double-double with 20 kills and 19 digs in the to Concord.
- Junior Marisa Coronis (Hudson, N.H.) recorded 45 kills and 22 digs. Coronis tallied 16 kills on .268 hitting against Concord, while going for 13 kills in the loss to Seton Hill. Coronis' most efficient outing came in the sweep of Dominican (N.Y.) when she collected nine kills and hit .412.
-Freshman Joanne Coffey (Merrimack, N.H.) collected 139 assists, 37 digs and 11 kills in the four matches. Her 22 assists in the season opener were the most for a Penmen rookie in her debut since Kendra Mikuta notched 27 helpers in a 3-1 loss to Nyack on Sept. 3, 2011. Coffey recorded her first career double-double with 50 assists and 15 digs against Concordia.
Field Hockey (1-1)

Notes:
- Field hockey began the season 1-0 for the third straight year with a 1-0 win at Belmont Abbey on Friday. The Penmen narrowly missed starting 2-0 for the second consecutive year Sunday with a 2-1 loss at Queens (N.C.).
- Junior Amaris Taylor (Tulsa, Okla.) scored Friday's lone goal early in the 23rd minute and then pulled the Penmen within a goal late in the 66th minute Sunday.
- In her first ever action with the Penmen, junior goalkeeper Alexis Soucy (Windsor, Maine) stopped both shots that came her way in the 1-0 shutout of Belmont Abbey.

- The Penmen ran to a fifth-place finish at the Northeast-10 Conference Preview on Saturday at Stonehill College.
- Senior Nacho Hernando-Angulo (Logrono, Spain) placed second overall in a time of 25:07, which was more than 35 seconds faster than his next closest competitor. He maintained a 5:04 mile pace and was less than nine seconds behind the event winner.

Notes:
- Women's tennis opened the season by defeating Colby-Sawyer, 7-2, Saturday.
- Graduate student Abla Chadli (Rabat, Morocco) won a pair of matches in the win. Chadli dispatched Ashley Woodside, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1 singles and teamed with sophomore Anna Sala (Matadepera, Spain) for an 8-5 victory against Evelyn Miller and Aislinn O'Connor at No. 2 doubles.
-Sophomore Sofia Morais teamed with sophomore Kaitlyn Poje (E. Stroudsburg, Pa.) for an 8-5 win against Ashley Woodside and Maddy Gemerek at No. 1 doubles. Morais also went three sets with Evelyn Miller at No. 2 singles before falling, 10-7, in the final set.
