Cameron Wright led the way for the Skyhawks with a goal and an assist, and Billy Palmer earned the win between the pipes with 29 saves. Senior Ryan Slatky (Manchester, N.H.) stopped 19 shots for Southern New Hampshire in the setback.
The hosts opened the scoring just over 13 minutes into the first, and built a two-goal advantage with three minutes remaining in the stanza. Conor Cassidy put Stonehill ahead with his second goal of the season off a feed from Wright with 6:57 left in the first before Brendan White potted his first of the year with help from Ryan Meade and Nick Schofield at 16:59.
The Penmen wasted little time in responding, as Galloway and junior Artem Efimov-Barakov (Khimki, Russia) set up Valliere at 17:42 to cut the deficit in half after a period of play. The score remained unchanged for the first eight-plus minutes of the second until Valliere returned the favor to Galloway for the freshman's first with 11:35 remaining in the frame.
The Skyhawks took the lead for good with under six to play in the second stanza, and put it out of reach with an insurance tally late in the third. Thomas Mahoney found Connor Jewett on the powerplay to reestablish a one-goal edge for Stonehill at 14:13 of the second before Wright capped the game's scoring with 3:57 to play.
